I saw some Swainson’s Hawks checking out the owls in their nest when I drove by today. They didn’t look happy but not much they can do about it other than build another nest nearby. I’m not sure the one in this photo is a Swainson’s though because they usually don’t have any white on he back of the head and their wing tips usually extend beyond the tip of the tail when folded. Do you have any photos of it from another angle?

No, I don’t have another photo of this particular bird. I suspect it’s a Swainson’s as that’s the only ones we’ve had around these past few days.
