Well it’s October 2 and we are getting our first snow storm of the season. They are predicting 10-20cm of the white stuff and the winds are blowing (31km/hr at the moment) like mad which makes for lovely drifts! Thought I’d brighten up this post with a few birds. The young owls are big now and it’s hard to tell the difference between parents and their ‘chicks’ unless we see them vocalize (they can’t hoot yet). The Northern Flicker hit the window pretty hard and was quite dazed for awhile but he eventually flew off. We’ve had some fantastic sunsets due to the smoke from the wildfires (Waterton fire is under control and this snow will really help).
