A few more wild critter photos to share. I took the first 2 photos just down the road from us and was quite baffled as to what kind of ducks they were. I went online to the Whatbird Community web site to ask the experts and they told me that they were Domesticated Ducks (read more here) – the clue was the way they stand up. I think they must have escaped from our neighbours who apparently have some.

Our 3 owlets are still very entertaining to watch every evening. There are quite a few Red Winged Blackbirds around the cattails as they nest there. I think the 2 deer are twins from last year, one’s a female and one a male. I checked out our pond at the front and don’t see any ducklings yet, just this lone duck.
