I’ve been quite busy since my last post, always outside doing yard work. My thighs are hurting today after weeding the veggie garden yesterday.

On June 17, I joined some of my fellow Red Hatters for an event in Fort Macleod. They had an antique car show there at the same time.

On June 20, I went on a memorial walk for John Russell who passed away last year. I’d been on a few wild flower hikes with him during the annual Waterton Flower Festival. He was very knowledgeable when it came to wild flowers. The Russell family is quite famous in these parts. Charlie, who did the walk, is well know for all his studies with the Grizzly bears, especially his summers in Russia (read more).

We often hear the Common Snipe and occasionally see one resting on a post. I’ve hardly seen any Goldfinches this year and just notice 3 on the feeder, 1 male and 2 females.
