Our owls started sitting on the nest sometime between Feb 24 and 28th. They picked a different nest this time, one closer to the house. They are really well hidden and you can only see mama’s head. There are 2 owlets, didn’t see them until they were grown. They’re off the nest testing their wings. They are flying about keeping us very entertained. The 2 youngsters are always together.
In September Waldy found the 2 owlets, dead, under the north trees. As there was no apparent injury on either of them, we assume Asian flu killed them. The parents are still alive.
