Our place has been very active with birds continually stopping here for a visit on their way north. Saw another new species, again we are just on his northern range, the Black-headed Grosbeak. We are seeing more Goldfinches but no Pine Siskins which usually travel with the Goldfinches. Our 3 Owlets are venturing off the nest and taking short flights. We are seeing American Coots again for the first time in a few years. In fact we have a few duck species as our spring lakes are lasting longer. I hope to see some ducklings soon. The Kingbirds are back and I saw once again a Gray Catbird.

Love your birds. I’ve never seen a Black-headed Grosbeak. There was a rare sighting in Pakenham in 2003.
