Duck season is upon us. With our spring lakes, there are a lot of ducks of different breeds walking around trying to decide where to nest. I was able to sneak up and photograph a few of them. I was also walking among the trees and heard a Meadowlark singing above me. The Tree Swallows arrived on the 22nd. The Magpie is very busy with her nest and the Geese are trying to decide if they should nest on top of the Muskrat House!

A real bird heaven on your property! Outstanding photos as always. And here in Calgary we’re bracing for this spring storm coming this afternoon/evening. Will it reach you folks?
Be well,
Lorraine
Lots of pretty ducks. Tree Swallows haven’t arrived here yet. It’s too cool for bugs for the swallows. Last time I saw a Meadowlark was in the late 80s/early 90s when we lived south of Ottawa. I hope as we hike more here we’ll see some.
