Before you say it, this late September blizzard we are experiencing is WAY too early. So far, 2 1/2 days of snow and it’s not done yet. I measured 36cm this morning. Waterton has reported 75cm at noon today and I doubt we are far behind. Blue Jays came (rare for us to see them. I counted 9!) before the snow started and have been emptying the feeders in record time trying to keep warm. It’s not that cold but cold enough to snow, hovering around zero.
On a sad note: ET lost his battle with kidney disease and passed away peacefully at home with Waldy and I on Friday the 27th. I added a cute video of him on his blog page if you want to have a look, click here. It shows his very playful personality.

Lots of snow & pretty pictures. After not seeing any blue jays all summer, we’re starting to get a couple at our feeders now.
Sorry to hear the news of ET, you and Moxie will miss him.
It was 65 cm here at 9 am and -8. Terrible Storm!
I saw 1 Blue Jay also.
What is that vessel with the liquid in it? Curious.
Loved (in Video) ET’s ‘time out’ in play to tidy up a back foot with a focussed couple of licks to fix things up :):)
