Some years we have more grasshoppers/crickets than others. When they are abundant, they really destroy our lawn. One day we saw a huge Grig and had no idea what it was. It turned out to be a Mormon Cricket (read more here). Luckily they are a rare site. 2021 was another year of many grasshoppers.
