Yet another year to observe and photograph our wildlife. This winter we have been graced with a large flock of Common Redpolls feasting on the bird feeders. This is the 2nd winter they have stayed here with us. Our Great Horned Owls are mating. I wonder how many owlets they’ll have this year. We’ve had a very unusual winter, not much snow, lots of wind due to the Chinooks and some +10 & -30 temps. We decided to try snow fences and they are working perfectly. We were surprised by the night visit of a Raccoon! We captured the Northern Lights on one of our cameras.. the image quality is poor as we haven’t put it outside yet.

Love the Redpolls. Haven’t seen here this winter yet. Lovely snow scenes and wildlife.
Look forward to seeing pictures of the birds you’ve written about!
I just saw a solitary Redpoll today. Hardy little birds, my first sighting close-up!
I identified it from your photos. Thanks!
