Today feels like the first day of autumn.. temps below 20C (was 3C at 6am) and cool wind. This morning we went for a bicycle ride around the “block” which is 6km long! The mountains were crystal clear.
Our spring lakes are pretty close to being empty – that’s a first since we’ve been here. I sure hope we get more snow this coming winter or we are going to be in trouble water wise.
Also this is the time of year that Waldy mows the rest of our 12 acres that I don’t mow throughout the summer. He’s got his big old Ford tractor with a mower on the back to do it.
- One of the ponds almost dried out.. the water usually covers the light coloured grass.
- When this pond is full, you don’t see the fence going thru the water.
- This lake doesn’t appear to be suffering from water loss.
- Sept 3 – Mountain View
- There are always 2 horses in this field that come for a scratch when we stop to visit.
- That’s an old school house in the background from many years ago.
- The cows were curious about us and our bikes but if we get too close, they run away.
- Those trees in the back are on our property so the cattle are in the field west of our house.
- Sept 3 – Almost time to harvest.
- Sept 2 – Signs of autumn, our trees are already starting to turn.
- Waldy cutting the grass with his tractor.
- Ever wonder what to do with your old vehicles? A neighbour came up with this beautiful celebration of flowers.
