Lots of birds are migrating north which gives me opportunities to take photos of them while they stop by us for a rest (I presume). Some of our summer residents are here to stay: Robins, Tree Swallows, Black Birds, Doves, Kill Deer, and Hawks (our Swainson’s haven’t returned yet. Another pair is here but I haven’t figured out what kind they are yet). Now that the snow is practically all melted, the Deer have returned, saw 9 the other day. In between we got a close up of Chief Mountain and Waldy took a great shot of the moon over Chief. Our ET and Moxie love the sun, and Boots is coming out more. I forgot to mention that we have a resident skunk!!

Photos are amazing and beautiful as always! Did you/Waldy always have such an appreciation of wildlife and nature or was this cultivated when you moved to S. Alberta?

Yes we did. We used to love watching the squirrels and birds in the city as well. Sometimes we saw rabbits come across the road from the graveyard.
Lovely photos. It’s so nice to see all the wildlife returning. If you get a different kind of hawk, your Swainson’s Hawks may not return due to territorial areas. You’ll see in time. Do you have an overview shot of all the water at your place where the birds are?
I had my drone out yesterday trying to get an overhead shot but I had to recharge my battery and by the time it was done, it was too windy. Next calm day for sure.
