Be sure to set your PVR to record “The Nature of Things” on Thursday evening at 8pm (mountain time). There is a special episode about Great Horned Owls. Late last winter I was approached by them to record the nesting, hatching, & growth of our GHOs but they decided to record the owl’s nest down the road from us as it was in a more protected area. They also recorded GHOs in different locations in North America. Click here to read more about it. Photo below is our babies from 2016 just off the nest.
Here’s more photos.. check out the weather station (ignore the date and time, I never reset it).

-40 below here this morning!! Up to -13 now, I hope we have seen the last of the COLD!
Burrrrrr . . . even my pup dog had a thing or two to say about going out this morning at minus 32 here for morning ablusions. However . . . the cooler weather lends itself to snow shoeing quite nicely !! AND, we have snow for a change. Cats are inside, cuddled in blankets, and gaining weight 🙂
Beautiful photos! And heat units are on the way by the end of the week in Calgary! Hope it warms up in S. Alberta too!!
Lots of snow and cold weather! Here it’s been raining the last couple of days and the snow is disappearing. I’d rather have a bit of snow. Pets are lucky to have a nice warm home.
