There has been many signs of spring this past couple of weeks: snow drifts melting, spring lakes, warmer temperatures, birds migrating (Canada Geese, Swans, Eagles, House Finch) to bees looking for food. I had some tulips and decided to see if the bees would be interested. They were!!! There were so many, I had to move the tulips away from the house. I think the whole colony were here.

WOW!!! Yes, amazing those bees but move them away from your home. Are these the ones you have on your property?

Wow! Lots of bees. More tulips to plant next year. When the dandelions come up, the bees will like them as well. Your tulips are really early. No signs of our crocus or narcissus yet. With warmer temps next week, may be we will see some plants come up.
The tulips weren’t from my garden. They were a bouquet from friends.
Good Morning Marlene. It is another clear sunny morning here, up to 45degF&climbing. Will be our warmest, a fine start to Spring. Took coffee on the deck and it was doable with full sun. Tapped trees for our wine making and had enough sap for the first 2 kits by Tuesday. In 10 days or so when I rack over to the glass carboys, the pails will make way for the last two. Do this every year as does my brother down the road. First 2 kits are Niagara Mist, fruit flavored and lite in alcohol but I do add more fruit to them. Last 2 are GranCru, Pinot Noir&a Merlot. Those I boost with Mexican Black Berries+sugar. I call them my “hi-test”. Some of these are the ones I’ve been sinking&the aging is working quite well. It is my grand-daughter’s birthday today and we’ll go and partake in Moira’s gathering. Due to covid she wasn’t able to due the usual celebration last year and come Monday, a repeat Red Zone has been called on us. Hope you and Waldi are doing well. We are getting by quite well, glad to not be in Ottawa. Take care and have a great day. Dave
