June 22 – The annual Waterton Flower Festival is on again and I participated in an event with John Russell. A group of us (from Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal, and even Oregon) hiked up Galloway Mountain to view and photograph the many varieties of wildflowers that Waterton has. As usual I was not disappointed. We even saw 2 bears (from a long way off) and a grouse with a youngster. The weather was perfect, sunny with cloudy periods, a nice breeze and 25C – perfect day for a hike. I haven’t bothered to name the flowers as I don’t know the names of them all. You can click here to view all the photos I took if you like. Link to Festival if you want to read about it.
p.s. I managed to get my strawberry moon photo.

The wildflowers are lovely. It’s unbelievable how many there are. On our hikes I notice, too, that there are so many wildlflowers – so pretty, some so tiny. We take all these for granted.
You got a great shot of the strawberry moon.
