Yesterday (Sept 20) they opened the park for public access, so today I went for another drive to Waterton. It was a cloudy, rainy day with some fog. Power has been restored. Nothing was open except for the gas station.

Again, a lot of the burned areas that I saw were of grass which will grow back next year and show no signs of a fire. Quite a few trees burned. As you see the town was not touched by fire. The fire did come close to the Prince of Wales and the Administration Buildings. You can also see how far down the trees burned on the mountains around the townsite. Cameron and Red Rock Canyon roads are not yet open – this is where the real damage will be to the trees.

The first few photos are from my dash cam and the remainder I took with my camera.
