Over the summer months I have photographed most of the wildflowers that have grown on our property. It was a dry summer but there were 2 mushrooms that managed to grow on our pile where we put cut grass and dead branches. One is called the Prince mushroom, I’d never seen one like that before. If I named any incorrectly, please let me know. I got a Prickly Pear Cactus from the bad lands many years ago, had it in Calgary then brought it here in 2007. It multiplied from 1 plant to many in all those years. It does really well on the south side of our house.

Your photos make your home, yard, & property a little bit of heaven.
How do you like the earlier darkness this eve?

I’ve always wanted to see the Prickly Pear Cactus in bloom.
Toadflax is another plant with yellow and orange flowers (also called Butter & Eggs).
The one you have is called Buffalo Bean.
Also the Wild Blue Flax is actually a Violet.
Those are the only ones I’m sure of the names.
I think the “Buttercup” is Cinquefoil Potentilla.
Sounds all very confusing, I always forget the names and just make up my own anyway.
Very Beautiful, wildflowers and mushrooms are my favorites.
Thank you Anne, I made the corrections.
Very pretty wildflowers and so many. In Ontario, we also have lots which I take photos of – Ontario Trillium, pussy willows, asters, blazing star, goldenrod, gentian, and puffball mushrooms (the latter you can eat), to name a few.
