Killdeer: New wildlife is amazing. Almost every year the Killdeer choose to nest on our lane way. They just make a little dent in the gravel for a nest, out in the open. And almost every year there is a snow storm while they are sitting on their 4 eggs. This year we decided to try and save them. We covered them with plastic and low and behold after a bit of hesitation, they returned to their eggs! There was a time after the storm that they were off the nest and for sure we thought they were gonners but then they sat continually for a few days and a miracle happened, ALL 4 eggs hatched into miniature killdeer.
