Lots going around at our place. Another cat (the black one) decided to take up residence at our place and seems to be getting along with Boots. Our baby owls are really growing! The Tree Swallows just arrived and there are many Blackbirds that make a lot of racket. Geese sometimes stop by for a rest, the one below chasing a Magpie, the other one being very vocal. I managed to catch a quick photo of a House Wren. I stand corrected, it’s a Vesper Sparrow. The Northern Pintails and Cinnamon Teals are enjoying our little pond. I’ve been seeing the same pair of Townsend’s Solitaires on occasion, and the Swainson’s Hawks have returned and are building a new nest in our trees.

Not that it really matters, but I’m pretty sure the little bird is not a House Wren. It might be a Song Sparrow, with the dark beak and stripes on breast. Great shots!☺
I agree with Anne, either a Song Sparrow or Vester Sparrow. The House Wren has a longer thinner beak. Your blackbirds are Red-Winged Blackbirds with the female (brown colouring – similar to a large sparrow) on the trees. We don’t have Townsend Solitaire birds here. [note the spelling of Townsend]. You are so lucky to have so many birds. After I got home, we had 2 male Baltimore Orioles at the feeder which I put up May 2. Today we sighted our first hummingbird, also at the Oriole feeder. I put out a hummingbird feeder out front this afternoon, with some pretty flowers.
It could also be a Lincoln’s Sparrow, hard to tell for sure…
I think I’ll go with the Vesper Sparrow, the other two seem darker coloured.
