Been busy here with the arrival of another marmot. His name is Hector and he certainly keeps us entertained. He’s younger than the other one was and not so afraid of us. He’s been in the garden and all around the house. As we see the occasional bat, we got in touch with the Milk River Watershed Council who are doing a study. They gave us a bat house to put up. We’ve seen 2 bats using it so far. The photo of all the bees on a tree was taken at our neighbour’s house. When a hive has too many bees some leave and form another hive. We have seen one chick in the Swainson’s Hawk nest.

Great photos as usual. Hector is funny & cute. Is he tame enough to come near you guys? Great idea for the bat box. That old barn next to the owl’s barn hasn’t collapsed yet!! Love all your wildlife & wild flowers.
Never ceases to amaze me the wildlife that you have passing through your yard! Love the owls the most but that marmot is quite entertaining with all the different poses.
love, LMW
