It’s actually been awhile since we had snow (but I’m sure we’ll get more). It’s even rained a few times! The grass is green, the perennials are growing quickly, and the daffodils are finally in bloom. The birds and honey bees are very active and plentiful. Click here to see the progress of our owl chicks. We’ve been spending a lot of time outdoors. Yesterday we raked up 14 wheelbarrows of pine cones and we’re not done yet! Now that we’re retired we don’t do it all in one day. Just a note about the bees. I bought some merrigolds for them to feed on as they were taking over the bird feeders. When one lone bumble bee came along the honey bees would not leave him alone. He used his legs to push them away.

Lots of activity going on at your place. Nice photos. What do you do with all the pine cones?
